Always loved taking her class at her Sewing Weekend in Beaver Dam. I would love to read the latest book on her life. I was blessed to meet her in Puyallup,WA at the Sewing Expo, as well as at the Sew Expo in Madison, WI. She showed a faith through her programs and inspired me as I watched her. She is an accomplished sewer that wants to advance her craft. I sadly never got to meet her in person, but feel like she was a dear friend. I consider one of the highlights of my sewing life to have been an attendee at one of Nancys last Babylock retreats. I loved how she promoted sewing for charity and helping new entrepreneurs. Born and raised in San Francisco, Andrew Zieman went back to his childhood alma mater - Sherman Elementary - to teach. If I miss her as much as I do and was not a personal friend, I can only imagine the impact of her life on those close to her. I did meet Nancy in Lakeland and took her class. Her leg was already bothering her. I was on vacation in Mexico when I saw that she had passed. I finished reading Seams Unlikely about a month ago and would take the book with me on trips and when I had different appointments. I still use many of the sewing shortcuts that were taught on the show. You name it Quilting, Embroidery, making patterns, making your own clothes and the list goes on and on. I watched the show regularly. She planted many seeds in lots of people, and the results are showing up in several generations. I have her autobiography and would love to read this book by Richard also. She is missed. I have several of her books and DVDs which I read and watch from time to time. I looked so forward to seeing Nancys shows and reading her blog. I learned so much from her. It helped me as a new sewer to gain confidence in sewing garments. So nice to have someone so possitive. I did have the pleasure of meeting her once at a sewing expo in Pittsburgh. I loved watching Nancy throughout the years. Her ability to inspire and patiently instruct her proven techniques simply for every level of skill and interest was profound. Her stories about church, 4H , college and her first job. Ive watched Sewing with Nancy for many years and also have many of her books. Im 62 and have been seeing since about 6 years old, mostly self taught but learned so many great tips from watching her show and buying her instructional books!
