Bioengineered Corn

In # 6: Labeling GMOs by Alison

Corn has the bioengineered label on it, unfortunately google failed me and I could not find a clear picture of corn labeled that way, I am writing under the assumption that corn is labeled with the seal above on the right.

I think this label certainly does convey the message of what is in the food. It clearly states that the food is either bioengineered or contains ingredients that are. It is also an inviting label that makes people who look at it go oh that’s probably not so bad. I wish there was more information either readily available about the label or on the label because I still think that this can drive people away simply because it says something they either don’t understand or think is still suspect. I do not have a problem with GM foods because I understand them and see their value. Even if GM doesn’t directly affect the consumer, I think that if consumers were properly educated, they would be willing to be more open to them because if there is a benefit without and downfall even if its not for them they will still be interested. Its why people buy stuff that donate proceeds to charity.
